Is your airbag vest ready for the return of competitions?

Votre gilet airbag est-il prêt pour la reprise des concours ?

Competitions are back: is your airbag vest ready?

The sun is out, the arenas are waiting for you... but before you head back to the showgrounds, have you checked your Hit-Air airbag vest?

Like all protective equipment, your vest requires maintenance to ensure optimal safety. Find out why and when it's essential to have it inspected.

Why have your airbag vest inspected?

Your airbag vest is designed to protect you in the event of a fall, but it can wear out or lose effectiveness over time. An inspection allows us to:

  • Detect any anomalies invisible to the naked eye

  • Ensure that the triggering system works perfectly

  • Extend the lifespan of your equipment by anticipating problems

When to send your vest for inspection?

To ensure your safety on the track, here are the situations where an inspection is highly recommended:

✅ After a bad fall or if you fall regularly (+10 times/year)

✅ If the airbag vest has not been deployed for a long time

✅ If the vest deflates too quickly after deployment

✅ After exposure to unusual conditions (humidity, excessive heat, etc.)

✅ If you plan to resell it used — an inspection certificate will be issued to you

✅ If you have just bought a used vest — to ensure it is in perfect working order

The Hit-Air inspection process: 3 key steps

When you send your vest for inspection, we carry out a series of rigorous tests to ensure it is fully operational:

If you have just bought a used vest — to ensure it is in perfect working order

Step 1: Internal membrane test

We simulate a deployment to check:

  • Pressure resistance

  • Maximum deployment volume

  • Inflation time

  • Air evacuation time via the decompression valve

Step 2: Casing inspection

We thoroughly inspect the casing:

  • Check the firing pin (no deformation or twisting)

  • Resetting test to ensure it is done easily

  • Absence of corrosion or rust that could hinder deployment

Step 3: General Condition Check

We review:

  • The seams

  • The snap fasteners

  • The condition of the fabric

If a problem is detected with the seams, fabric, or membrane, your vest will be sent to our specialized workshop in Japan for repair. In this case, we will provide you with a quote before any work is done.

Leave nothing to chance: ensure your safety in competition!

A well-maintained vest ensures peace of mind on the track. Remember to have yours regularly inspected to extend its lifespan and guarantee maximum effectiveness.
